38 weeks

Wow, I'm 38 weeks.  Every once in awhile I get a panicked feeling and I think, "oh shit, he could come any time".  I haven't really had any signs of labor and that's ok as long as little guy doesn't plan on being late.

Mostly, I'm trying to wrap my head around how I am going to juggle a 14/15 month old and a newborn.  I know we will get into a routine (eventually) and it will all work out-  it's just that beginning, hormonal, sleepless time that I'm scared of.  I'm also not looking forward to that look I know Emily is going to give me when I'm holding her brother.  I can't help but feel a little guilty that she won't be getting all of my attention anymore, but I know she will love having a little brother when she's older.

Thankfully, we have Steve's parents across the street and they are going to be a huge help.  We took a trip to the store this past weekend to get Emily some toys  and baby proofing supplies for their house.  They have offered to take her for two mornings a week for the first couple of months to give me some breathing room.  It definitely makes me feel better knowing we have a little bit of a plan to work with!

13 days (holy crap)!

  2. SO glad that Emily will be able to spend time with her grandparents and give you some extra bonding time with baby boy. That's so nice that they are right across the street to help out! I can't say this enough: you are going to do a great job being a mom of two. Not saying that it won't be challenging and tough at times, but you are going to be awesome. Nap when they nap...hopefully they will enjoy napping at the same times from the beginning right?! LOL Laundry, food, and housekeeping come WAY last... :) Can't wait to hear that baby #2 is here! Keep me posted!

  3. I am sure it will be tough in the beginning... but it will also be amazing... and there will be so many sweet sibling moments that will surely melt your heart enough to forget that hecticness and exhaustion that comes with raising two littles!! :) You are going to rock it. Awesome that you also have your ILs close by to help. And umm... holy cow... 38 weeks. Soooo soon!!!

  5. Wow this pregnancy seems like it's going so fast! I totally understand why you would be worried being a mom to a newborn without a toddler is hard let alone with 1! Thank goodness you're going to have some help from Steve's parents. Hopefully he will be here in 2 weeks or less!

  6. Less than 2 weeks! Ahhhh! So excited for you & your family! I was so luck that Savannah was almost 4 when Shane was born. She understands she needs to give me time to do things for him. Emily is still so young it will be harder for her but she will love her brother so much! 2 is hard but you can do it! How wonderful that your in-law's are next door. Mine are too and it wonderful!

  7. It seems like your pregnancy has flown by! I cannot wait to "meet" your litle man! If Emily and Little Man are anything like my Ella & Aubrey, they'll love each other to pieces and be so happy to have each other. Sometimes I feel like Aubrey loves Ella more then me. Haha
