We had our weekly midwife appointment on Friday and everything went well. Baby is head down but I'm not effaced or dilated yet. Her heart rate is in the 140's and my blood pressure is perfect. We go back again on Thursday.
I had so many things I wanted to get done this weekend but I'm so damn tired lately that we didn't get much accomplished.
I wish I would have taken a video of Steve and I trying to install the car seat base....blind leading the blind is the best way to describe it. This is how it went down....we decided to go to the grocery store on Saturday to get a few things and on our way home we see a bright orange sign that says- CAR SEAT INSPECTION TODAY! This is awesome since it's something we really need to get done. Then we see they are only there for another half hour. So we run home- grab the car seat and base- and try to put it in without reading the directions.....yep. Steve says- "this looks good enough, we'll just explain that we have no idea what we're doing." ok- good plan! And off to the fire station we go.
A very nice lady
The rest of the weekend consisted of me trying different laying/sitting/standing positions to get comfortable and watching the Steelers win!!
24 days to go!
That's so funny about the car seat. Ours is the same. I drive a grand Cherokee and the passenger seat is up so far! This is not good as my husband is six four and I always drive us!! I'm exhausted as well and I've decided that if nothing else gets finished we will all be ok. Let's just try to relax and enjoy these last few weeks! Can't wait to see our girls :)
ReplyDeleteOnly 24 days left! WOW, that's amazing!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you guys got the car seat figured out. My SIL was the director of a daycare and she had to get help to get theirs installed when the first kiddo came along. :)
Yay for having a car seat in your car now! Next up is that sweet baby riding in it.
We just put the car seat base in the middle - did you try that? allows for two people to still ride in the car and not have one of them eat dash. We have a grand cherokee and it worked great
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have had a clue either. Glad it's done and in place now. It's really getting closer!
ReplyDeleteYep, I feel like I'm eating the dashboard too when I'm in the passenger seat. Ha! Glad you got it installed though. One more thing to check off the list!
ReplyDeleteI can hardly sit up front now because of the darn carseat! Lol Glad to hear that I'm not the only one with this problem, I just might have to convince DH we need a bigger car! You are getting so close to meeting your baby! I'm SO excited for you! Get lots of rest!
ReplyDeleteoh, i didn't even think about how much space that would take up. hhmmm...it might be time to upgrade our car. ;)
ReplyDeletehow's the nursery coming along? is it finished?
Well, I'm happy to hear the carseat inspection is out of the way. My brother and SIL didn't have that done until they were already in the hospital, and it was a circus trying to get that taken care of.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for you to get all this stuff checked off your list :) I feel like we're all going to blink and you're going to be home with the baby!!!
You seem so together! I love the car seat story.. Don't you feel like time is flying by? I feel like we are running out of time to get everything we need done. Yikes!!
ReplyDeleteI too can not get comfortable.
