dots and joint pain

Since having Emily I have had the worst joint pain in my knees and hips.  There are times when I feel like my knees are going to give out when I go to sit down.  It's painful but I thought it was just from being on the floor more and lifting Emily, you know- mom stuff.  I also have small red dots all over my abdomen, upper thighs, upper arms and back.  These 'dots' as I call them are called petechiae and they originally showed up on my stomach after my ectopic and blood transfusions.  At the time I worked for a dermatologist and he had me get some blood tests because he thought it might be lupus.  My blood work came back normal so I never thought about it again.  Since having Emily, the joint pain has been pretty awful and the petechiae are multiplying.  I had some blood work done yesterday so I'm just waiting to see if anything is out of whack.

Has anyone heard of anything like this?

  1. Hmm, I haven't heard of the dots or petechiae, but my knees do hurt more. I just figured it was because of putting her on my legs for long periods of time, or sitting funny. Hope you get some answers from your blood test! That doesn't sound fun.

  2. Ooooh, I hear you on the joint pain. I still haven't gotten to the bottom of mine. I've been tested for rheumatoid issues and they came back inconclusive each time. My chiropractor says it's just my pelvis out of alignment, my doctor says it's from the Endo...who knows! But I do know it's no fun to live with. Hoping you get some answers soon!

  3. I have the hip pain too. It is so bad especially at night.
Maybe try the physical therapist! I went once and felt better for about a month. I will have to go back soon. The PT said that she thinks it's my muscles going back into place incorrectly. Good luck!

  6. Yikes - you poor thing. I haven't heard of that, but I really hope everything is okay. I will be sending positive vibes your way.

(Oh - I changed my domain to www.sittinginatree-blog.com. If I'm not showing up in your feed, can you fix it? I'd be super bummed if you stopped visiting!)

  7. Uhg, how frustrating. The only thing I know of with those symptoms is lupus. Hopefully everything comes back normal, or if not, that it's easily managed.

  8. I haven't (though I do still get pain in my hips / tailbone, but no rash). I hope everything turns out well.

  9. I have knee pain for sure, but I think it's gotten better as months go by.
