Gavin- 1 month, Emily- 16 months

I am so behind, I think that is going to be my most used phrase this year...

We are still getting packages from you wonderful bloggers and I will get a thank you post out very soon (or as soon as I have more than 2 minutes alone).

First, I need to get this post up before another month goes by.

On February 23rd Gavin turned one month old and it blows.my.mind.

He is such a good baby, calm and cuddly.  He is sleeping about 3 hours between feedings at night and eats about every 2-2.5 hours during the day.  He is already in 3 month clothes because he is so long!

Gavin had his check up with his surgeon at Children's last week and he is doing so well!  11 pounds and 22.5 inches long.  There are still things we have to watch out for and we really have to be careful that he doesn't get sick during this flu season, but other than that he is just like any other baby.  We are so thankful.

And, on February 25th Emily turned 16 months!

This is the month of the tantrum.  They come on fast and without warning- if I'm holding Gavin and she wants my full attention, or she wants something and I don't know what she is trying to tell me, or just for no reason at all (at least that's how it seems).  I am hoping this phase goes by quickly, it is tiring, let me tell ya.

When she's not throwing a full on fit, she is so funny and is learning like crazy!  She still loves going to kindermusik and she looooves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (obsessed is probably a more accurate description).  She is a great eater and is still taking two naps and sleeping about 10 hours at night.  We have tried going down to one nap and it is not pretty.  She's just not ready yet.

Her hair is getting long and it's beautiful!  She is TALL and is often mistaken for older when we are out and about.

Having two kids is probably the hardest thing I've done in my life, but we are working our way through it and we are SO grateful to have these two amazing babies in our lives.

  1. Excited to read an update this morning about your two little loves. Sounds like Gavin continues to be a rock star baby, and I'm so glad he's doing wonderfully. The tantrums are difficult to deal with, and I'm sure with a newborn they are even more trying. The pictures of the two of them together are so sweet!!

  2. I am so glad you posted an update - I've been thinking of you all! So glad to hear that Gavin is doing well, what a blessing!!! And all that hair - wow :)
Emily is just beautiful. I am dreading the tantrums and Lexi is already starting to show signs that they are coming :(
Love, love, love the picture of Emily and Gavin - so precious!

  3. Tantrums here have gotten less, I think it's because Aiden can say more words now or points to what he wants. It has to be so frustrating for our toddlers when they want something and can't communicate it. I can't believe how tall Emily is and just what a pretty girl she is. Gavin is so sweet, I just want to snuggle him! :) You are the BEST mom ever!

  5. They are growing so fast! And are both so beautiful. Emily prob doesn't understand why Mommy is taking care of someone other then her. She is still a baby herslef. She will get it. And as they grow, they will have so much fun together. It's gonna be so awesome! Yes, having two is so so hard. Someone is always awake, someone always needs something & someone is upset about something. You are rocking it!

  8. Tough age, especially if she looks older to others. I can't imagine having that little at the same time, but it sounds like you are making it work.

  9. You have just beautiful children!

I am thrilled that Gavin is doing so well!!!!! Such a little trooper!

Good luck with the tantrums, I bet HB is quite good at them! Avery has had a few, but I think they are gearing up and going to soon become more frequent.

  10. I can't believe Gavin is already one month old!!! That seemed to go by so quickly. He is just adorable and looks very much like Emily in so many ways. I love seeing the photos of them together. Emily is looking so big now.. and definitely very tall and old for her age! Yikes, the tantrums scare me for when Lids gets there. Hope they don't last too long!! :/

So great to hear an upset about both of these beautiful kiddos.

  11. Nothing brings on the terrible twos faster than adding a new member to the family!!:) We're dealing with the same thing here. I don't know if it will pass quickly, but at least I've learned how to handle him best when it happens!

So glad to hear everything is going well!
