How far along: 23 weeks today! 119 days to go!
What baby is up to: Baby girl is more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango). Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.
I'm pretty sure she has had hiccups a couple of times this week, it feels like little jumps in the same spot over and over- I love it! There have also been a few times that my belly has been lopsided when she gets curled up in a strange spot :)
What we've been up to: This week we put her crib together (awesomeness), celebrated Father's Day, and we have seen (not just felt) her kick!
My feet and ankles are swollen and after a long day of sitting at my desk my tail bone is beyond painful. I'm going back to my acupuncturist next week to see what she can do.
If anyone has any ideas for swollen feet I would be so grateful!!
What we're looking forward to: A 3 day weekend full of family and friends ♥
Adorbs! Your hair looks shorter- I love it! The crib looks great too. Hope you have a super fun weekend- make sure to put those feet up :)
ReplyDeleteI also lessen my salt intake and keep my feet up whenever possible.
ReplyDeleteI like your hair, did you cut it?
ReplyDeleteI hope your feet get better, mine are starting to get bad too. All I have heard is drink more water, but I honestly can't drink anymore!!!!
What helps the sensation that blood is just pooling in my feet when I'm sitting all day (my feet are not exactly swollen, but they feel different by the end of the day) is that I took a medium size box (you could also use a short stool or something) and put it under my desk and I put my feet on it all day. Even the 10-12" elevation off the floor makes a huge difference!!!
ReplyDeleteYou look so adorable!

ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see/feel those kicks too! Hope it's a wonderful 3 day weekend and the acupuncture appt helps with the swelling. Is that a crib that converts to day bed/full size bed? You look great!

ps-without sounding weird, i love that you have 3 kitties too!
ReplyDeletewe have 3 furbabies that made me a crazy cat lady instantly :)
For a lady with swollen feet, you sure look happy! My swollen feet were not a pregnancy issue, but maybe what worked for me will work for you. I solved it with compression stockings during the day, and lifting my lefts up against the wall for 15 min after work everyday. I hope you find relief!
ReplyDeleteHow fun that you can see her kick now!
ReplyDeleteWe're heading staying in Musaktine. The wedding is at my uncle's farm in Letts.
