Mother's day & baby girl's name

For three years, mother's day has been a very sad and emotional day for me.  It has been a reminder of not having my mom in my life and more recently, not being a mom myself.

This year I decided I didn't want to be sad, I wanted to celebrate being pregnant and make the best of the weekend.  So Steve and I went to visit my sister, Niki, and it was just what I needed. We had a Cinco de Mayo party on Saturday with great food and great people. I even got to see one of my best college friends, Beth, and her sweet little girl, Grace.

On Sunday I didn't wake up sad but content.  Of course, I still missed my mom and wished I could call her to tell her happy mother's day but I also felt happy. Happy to finally be pregnant and on my way to being a mom. 

When we were making the drive back home, Steve and I were talking about baby names and nursery ideas and we have decided (with 99% certainty) that our baby girl's name will be.....

Paige Bonnie 

We both really love the name Paige and we have planned from the beginning to use my mom's name for her middle name.  We are a little worried about picking a name before we see her but we think this name is absolutely perfect! 

We also came up with some awesome nursery ideas that I will save for another post.

    Mother's Day is always hard when you are missing your mother, I feel the same way. But this Mother's Day was a good one! :) I'm glad it was for you too! Adorable name.

    I think the name is adorable! I wanted to use my mom's name as well for the middle name, but it's Sue and it just didn't really fit with any first names we liked. What a tribute to your mom!

    Honey--Im so glad I got to see you this weekend.I wish I could have stayed longer. I am honestly looking foward to girls dates together. Gracie and Paige are going to have so much fun. I can't wait for us to go get our first mani/pedis! I love you and can't wait to meet baby Paige!

    I am sure Mother's Day is hard when you are missing your Mother. More so when you a pregnant I would think. It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! BTW: LOVE the name. Ver pretty!
